TWO CASUAL LABORERS BEAT JUVENILE TO DEATH IN RUKUNGIRI

Police in Rukungiri are holding two suspects who allegedly murdered a 15 year old boy.
The Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson Elly Maate identified the suspects as Darius Tayebwa 29 years and Arthur Kasingye 31years both casual labourers who allegedly murdered Edson Mugisha a colleague a resident of Ihindamata village, Nyabubare Parish, Bwambara Sub county, Rujumbura County, Rukungiri district.
Maate said that on 5th July 2022 at around 0100hours as the deceased was with other casual laborers at Bwambara Matooke Market located at Bwambara Trading Center waiting to offload a vehicle, one of the suspects Kasingye Arthur called Tayebwa Darius who was in a nearby bar belonging to Kamushaba and upon arrival the two suspects were seen whispering to each other.
Thereafter, Darius grabbed a walking stick from Arthur and hit the deceased all over the body. The deceased and others ran into different corridors, and today at around 0800hours Edson’s body was found lying in one of the corridors.
Maate revealed that it’s further alleged that, sometime back the deceased stabbed Darius adding that this act was revenge.
The incident was reported at Bwambara Police Station and later CPS Rukungiri was notified for further management and an exhibit of a walking stick was recovered from Arthur during the arrest.
Scene of crime was visited and documented by the DCID/O and team, body was taken to Rwakabengo Health Center III for postmortem to ascertain the actual cause of death and suspects were arrested for questioning.
The case of murder was registered at Rukungiri Central Police station under reference number CRB: 619/2022.
