TWO DETAINED, TWO ON THE RUN OVER HOMOSEXUALITY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN KISORO DISTRICT

Police in Kisoro have detained two suspects over homosexuality practices and human trafficking. Two others are still at large and their hunt is on.
In a media briefing, the Kisoro district police commander Ben Niwamanya Kashumbusha confirmed that the two suspects were arrested in a hotel. The name of the hotel has been withheld.
He explained that the persons in custody lured a young man from Bukedia district with assurance that they had a job for him in a hotel in Kisoro. When he reached Kisoro, he was called to a certain hotel to have rest, waiting to be taken to the hotel where he was to report for work.
The suspects came and to tried to force him into sexual affairs with them amounting to homosexual acts. The young man assured them that he would attend to them.
The suspects provided all required necessities to the young man but after releasing that there was no job, he reported the matter at Kisoro police station.
The arrested suspects are David Ntihabyose Fressian from Nyakabande sub county and Manirakiza Fideli from Kabaya village in Kisoro municipality.
On interrogation the arrested suspects accepted that they practice such immoral of homosexuality.
Kashumbusha added that during the operation two other suspects ran away. They are Damiyano from Rubuguri town council in Kisoro district and a student at Kabale university, and Lawrence Nsimiye, a mobile money agent who operates in Kisoro town. The hunt for them is on.
He urged people of Kisoro district to avoid involvement in such acts.
