TWO GUNS ,120 ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION BURNT AT HOIMA CPC

Two sub machine guns and 120 rounds of ammunition have been burnt by fires that gut two police houses at Hoima central police station in Hoima district.
The guns had been left inside one of the huts used by two officers Police Constable Simon Odongokara and Police constable Francis Omara.
Amongst the Sub machines, one had 90 rounds of ammunition belonging to a one PC Ondongokara while the other had 30 rounds of ammunitions belonging to a one PC Omara.
Other household property belonging to the two officers was reduced to ashes.
Among other property include, four pairs of Field force unit officers, two pairs of warm jackets, Five pairs of police gumboots, one metallic baton, two national Identity cards, and warrant cards.
The fire broke out on Sunday between 2am and 4 am although the other officers tried to put off the fire; it was too late to save the guns.
Neither death nor injuries were registered.
The two Special police constables who use the burnt hut have been arrested to help in the investigations, according to credible sources.
Hoima resident district commissioner Samuel Kisembo Araali has condemned the act of police officers taking guns to their huts instead using an amorous.
He added that they have constituted a committee of security operatives to investigate the incident.
Kisembo said that the officers will be held and help in the investigations.
When contacted for a comment, Julius Hakiza Allan, the Albertine region public relations officer declined to avail any detail noting that it is an internal matter that should not be in press.
In 2014 October, Two sub machine guns and 60 rounds of ammunition were also burnt in a suspected arson attack that was carried out on a police post in Mpasana Sub County Kibaale district.
