TWO INJURED IN MUSLIM SCUFFLE OVER SALE OF MULTI BILLION PROPERTY AT HOIMA TOWN MOSQUE

Two people were yesterday rushed to Hoima regional referral hospital after they were critically injured in a scuffle between muslims and body guards of the Bunyoro – Toro Regional Khadi Dr. Sheikh Muhammad Irumba.

The scuffle erupted when the Muslims from Hoima town mosque started fighting and beating up whoever they found in Bwikya mosque compound after Juma prayers.

The angry muslims from Hoima town mosque alleged that the Mufti of Uganda His Eminence Sheikh Ramathan Mubajje who was supposed to address them at their mosque was channeled to Bwikya mosque by the Regional Kadhi for Bunyoro and Toro Dr. Sheikh Muhammad Irumba.

They added that the Mufti was expected to explain the issues surrounding the ongoing plan to sell a multi-billion property at Hoima Town Mosque over an unpaid debt of 35 million shillings.

To calm the situation, the body guards intervened with live bullets in the air to disperse a section of Muslims from Hoima Town Mosque and two were unfortunately injured.

The two are currently admitted at Hoima regional referral hospital where they are nursing wounds, while others were arrested.

Three weeks ago Majimoto announced in the papers the sale of Property at Hoima Town Mosque after getting instructions from her client Alice Joy Kabateraine, a businesswoman in Hoima running Total Petrol Station on Hoima Main Street.

Kabateraine claims that she supplied fuel to the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council but was no paid.

The 35 million being demanded also includes legal fees.
