TWO LCI CHAIRPERSONS DISAPPEAR WITH VOTER LOCATION SLIPS IN FORT PORTAL

Police in Fort Portal are hunting for Isaac Kayemba, LCI chairperson of Nyakabaale B cell and Ismail Kaganda of Kisumbi B cell both in Bukwaali ward central division Fort Portal city after the two men ran away with voter location slips.
It is alleged that the two grabbed the voter location slips from the Bukwali ward distribution centre yesterday morning.
The incident came hours after the Fort Portal central division FDC flag bearer Mr. Ajuna Daka stormed electoral commission offices complaining of local council chairpersons who were distributing voter location slips.
Mugenyi James, the Fort Portal city returning officer told journalists that at around 10:00am yesterday morning at Bukwali parish headquarters, the two grabbed voter location slips from one Rebbeca, Bukwali parish supervisor and refused to return them back after a long time pleading and took away to unknown destinations.
Mugenyi noted that police was looked the perpetrators from their homes in vain and they could not pick their phones but promised to do his best to see the materials recovered
He said that electoral commission officials are the only people supposed to distribute electoral materials and whoever will be found with electoral materials will be arrested and charged.
Electoral commission started a national wide distribution of voter location slips to electorates countrywide at different parish headquarters, the exercise that will run for ten days.
