TWO NOMINATED FOR NTUNGAMO DISTRICT KADHI

Two names have been nominated by the Ntungamo district Muslim executive committee to fill the gap of the substantial district Kadhi.
Sheikh Swalleh Kashangirwe the outgoing District Kadhi and Sheikh Sulaimaani Byaruhanga from Kajara County were nominated yesterday.
According to the chairman Uganda muslim supreme council electoral commission Hajji Kayongo Ahmed Nyago the two names will be sent to Uganda Muslim supreme council headquarters among them the mufti of Uganda will choose the eligible district Kadhi after undergone scrutiny, oral and written interviews.
Ntungamo district has had only two district Kadhis since it was made a Muslim district in 2012 where Sheikh Abudallah Migadde; the current Kajara county sheikh served for only one year and was succeeded by Sheikh Swalleh Kashangirwe whose term of office expired in June last year.
Sheikh Kashangirwe and Skeikh Byaruhanga were nominated after the swearing in of 55 councilors at the Ntungamo District main Mosque.
Meanwhile the chairman Eastern Division Ntungamo Municipality Hajji Muheki Akim Rwomushana was elected as a delegate to the general assembly while Lule Elias maintained as district secretary.
