TWO NOTORIOUS THIEVES ARRESTED IN MBARARA DISTRICT.

Police in Rubindi, Mbarara district are holding two Notorious Thieves who have been terrorizing residents in Rubindi-Ruhumba Town council and the surrounding areas.

According to ASP Andrew Agume the Officer in charge of Rubindi Police Station identified the duo as Alfred Ayesiga 28 years a resident of Bufunda division in Ibanda municipality and Davis Mugisha 27years a resident of Rubirizi district.

He said the duo who have been renting in Rubindi one week ago, were arrested on Friday following an operation conducted by Rubindi Police Station in Collaboration with the area local council leaders.

ASP Agume said the suspects are part of a big racket of thieves who have been terrorizing Rubindi area and the surrounding, breaking residential houses, guest houses and hotels.

He noted that Police managed to recover valuables which included, two flat screens, one loud speaker, clothes and shoes among other items.

He further assured the public that such operations will continue throughout Easter festivities in order to ensure sanity in the area.

In his defense, Alfred Ayesiga one of the suspects claimed to have legally bought the exhibits he was found with in his rental house in Rubindi.

Davis Mugisha another suspect claimed to be innocent since police arrested him at his friend’s (Alfred Ayesiga) place.

Residents told www.mknewslink.com reporter that they have been having sleepless nights due to thieves who have been terrorizing their area.
