TWO YEAR OLD BABY DIES AFTER BEING NEGLECTED BY OWN PARENTS, COUPLE ARRESTED

Kisoro police are holding a couple for alleged child negligence which led to the death of their child.
The suspects are Erasmus Agaba and Rose Kyampire both residents of Kirundo village in Rutaka parish Kirundo sub county in Kisoro district.
The arrest of Agaba and Rose follows after their two year old son was found floating on waters of Lake Mutanda, Kirundo village in Rutaka parish Kirundo Sub County.
The deceased has been only identified as Isaac aged two years.
According to the Kigezi Police Spokesperson Elly Maate, the two have been living in conflicts where Agaba has been complaining that the child belongs to another man. On 4th June2019, Kyampire separated with Agaba and left her two children including the deceased to the husband.
Maate added that Agaba also claims that on 14th June2019, he left the two children at home going for work but when he returned in the evening at around 8:00pm; he found the deceased missing which forced him to report a case of disappearance at Kirundo police post.
It was until on Sunday at around 2:00pm when the deceased’s body was seen floating on waters of Lake Mutanda Kirundo village in Rutaka parish Kirundo Sub County.
The body of the deceased was taken to Kisoro hospital for postmortem while the parents are currently being detained at Kisoro Central Police Station to help police in the investigations.
