TYCOON APONYE TO BE BURRIED ON 12TH JULY

Hon. Roland Ndyomugyenyi Bish the Rukiga County Member of Parliament, has expressed his condolences to the family of the late Apollo Nyegamehe, who tragically lost his life in a fatal road accident in Ntungamo District.

Apollo Nyegamehe, a billionaire and prominent business tycoon, was also serving as the NRM Chairperson for Rukiga District. On Thursday, July 6, 2023, he died instantly when the car he was traveling in collided with a stationary vehicle.

According to SP Samson Kasasira, the spokesperson for the Rwizi Region police, the accident occurred around 9 PM on the Ntungamo-Mbarara Road in Itojo. The vehicles involved were registered as UBF 300Z (a Land Cruiser) and UAZ 767D (a Fuso).

Preliminary investigations indicate that the Land Cruiser, in which the late Apollo Nyegamehe was a passenger, was heading towards Kabale when it crashed into the stationary Fuso, which had experienced mechanical problems.

Hon. Bish Ndyomugyenyi expressed profound shock upon receiving the distressing news of his friend’s passing. He revealed that Apollo Nyegamehe was on his way to attend another funeral in Rukiga district when the tragic accident occurred.

The legislator further emphasized that not only the families of both himself and Apollo Nyegamehe were deeply saddened but also the entire Rukiga district community and Uganda as a whole. The late Apollo Nyegamehe was revered as an influential figure in various spheres of life.

At the time of this statement, the body of Apollo Nyegamehe was taken to Kampala by A-puls from Itojo Hospital Mortuary. The other individuals involved in the accident, including the driver, who sustained injuries, were promptly transported to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital for medical treatment
