TYCOON BALYA’S SONS RELEASED BY MBARARA POLICE ON BOND

Police in Mbarara city have released on bond the two sons of tycoon Apollo Balya who were arrested for blocking Masaka- Mbarara road in protest to the sale of their father’s by Orient Bank.
The two; Arnold Nuwagaba, Ambrose Musinguzi were arrested alongside their friend Abdul Mbabali on 23rd, August,2020 for blocking the Mbarara-Masaka high way with their hardware trucks in protest to takeover of their father’s property by Orient Bank after he defaulted 9 billion shillings he had acquired from the bank as a loan.
According to Rwizi region police spokesperson ASP Samson Kasasira they were later released on police bond, Sunday 23rd, August,2020 after providing sureties.
Balya mall which houses Balya stint hardware and other businesses in Mbarara city was on 21st August 2020 morning sealed off by court brokers in preparation to sell it off after the owner Apollo Balya delayed to pay a 9 billion shillings loan acquired from Orient bank.
