UCC CAMPS IN KABAROLE TO TEST MOBILE PHONES

Joseph Kizito from the Uganda communications commission has disclosed that 5 phones verified 1 is found duplicated.
Kizito revealed this yesterday in Karago town council and Bukuk Sub County while registering and testing phones by a team from UCC in conjunction with other telecommunication companies in Kabarole district.
Kizito explained that registering and testing of phones is done as a
result on escalated insecurity in the country by the use of phones.
He said that it has been discovered that there are many fake phones on
the market in wrong doers have taken advantage of it.
Kizito noted that when duplicate phones are used wrongly, it’s very
hard for the security agencies to track them.
Kizito stated that UCC is in the district for a week to sensitize
people to register and they will be in places like
Mugusu,Rwaihamba,Rwimi,Mpanga Markert and while end on 22nd
March with dialogue at Mountains of the moon hotel.
He further stated that with the use of CEIR machine, they will be
able to detect all duplicate phones, thus urging the public to embrace
the exercise before their phones are blocked.
