The Fort-portal municipality Member of Parliament Alex Ruhunda has revealed that Uganda currently needs leaders that are honest to themselves in order to chase away dictatorial leadership.
The legislator acknowledged that with certain dishonest leaders our country Uganda is at stake of running out of hands in watch of the innocent citizens. He accused his fellow parliamentarians of failing to telling the truth to president Museveni.
Alex Ruhunda is one of the NRM members of parliament opposed to the lifting of article 102 b of the 1995 constitution which caps the presidential age limit at 75. President Museveni 73 will be ineligible to stand for presidency in 2021 if the article is not amended.
Ruhunda was on Saturday addressing hundreds of people at the silver jubilee celebration of St Paul’s National seminary Kinyamasika in Fort-portal diocese. He said that even a good dancer must know when to leave the stage.
He asked president Museveni to allow peaceful power transition and remain as an adviser to the new president after serving his current term of office. Leaders who advised Museveni on change of the age limit cap are his enemies and enemies of our country Ruhunda told the crowds amid applause and cheers from the crowds.
