UGANDA RED CROSS SOCIETY TO SET UP YOUTHS PROJECT IN BUMBAIRE- BUSHENYI

Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS) has resolved to allocate 5% of Bushenyi branch funds to support youth activities in the societies.
URCS secretary General Robert Kwesiga revealed this today in his report during the 2021 Annual General Meeting held at Jamugi restaurant in Bushenyi town, Bushenyi district.
“During its sitting of 19th Feb, 2021, the central governing board resolved to allocate 5% of branch funds to support youth activities, as approved by the national council,” reads the report.
The society is set to implement youth project on Bumbaire land, advocate and lobby for branch development in the catchment areas, at national level- headquarters and through proposals from potential members.
According to chairman URCS Emmanuel Kyeyune, Red Cross members are to renew their membership in order to raise enough resources which will support the daily branch business.
He asked for the recruitment of professional and potential members who can uplift the image of the branch.
In an annual report given by the branch manager Ms. Judith Kyobutungi, 2804 units of blood were donated by 1928 males and 876 females from 46 blood mobilization and blood bleeding sessions which were conducted purely at community levels.
The meeting involved National council Branch representatives, Bushenyi branch manager, district local government, Bushenyi Ishaka municipal technical staff, partners and Red Cross members.
The meeting was honored by the District Development Officer Baziri Muhanguzi who advised the participants to always first consult the experiences and senior people before starting up income generating projects to avoid unnecessary losses.
