UGANDAN GOV’T VEHICLE KNOCKS RWANDAN NATIONAL DEAD IN KABALE

Police in Kabale are investigating circumstances under which a Rwandan man was knocked dead by Ugandan government vehicle.
Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson identified the deceased as Emmanuel Habiyambere a Rwandese by nationality a resident of Gicumbi Byumba District in the republic of Rwanda.
It’s allegedly that on 18 June 2022 at about 2038hrs the motor vehicle Registration number UG 2770A Toyota hilux double carbin white knocked the deceased who has been operating bodaboda cycling along Mwanjari Katuna road within Kabale municipality.
Scene was visited by police, postmortem done and body was handed over to the relatives in Uganda for burial.
The driver is still at large, while the motor vehicle is parked in the police yard pending IOV inspection.
Inquiries continue to ascertain the cause of accident.
The case of accident was registered at Kabale Central Police station under reference number CRB:62 /2022.
