The Mbarara District UMEME manager has attributed the regular disconnections of electricity to high level of vandalism of their electrical equipment.
Thomas Tondo while giving his remarks during the Electricity Disputes Tribunal sensitization workshop for the south western Region held at Rwizi Arch hotel in mbarara last evening said that they registered over 35 cases of vandalism within two months which results into many disconnections.
Tondo calls upon all the people that these equipment that they are vandalizing help them mostly in proving with them power therefore they should take part in fighting the vice.
However, the Acting Registrar Electricity Disputes Tribunal which organized the workshop Harriet Tukamushaba says that people are always oppressed by these Electricity companies and they find themselves with no alternative.
Tukamushaba calls upon all those with cases concerning electricity to always come for help in the Electricity Disputes Tribunal for help for free as it work under electricity Act.
The work shop was attended by District Chairpersons, DPCs, and RDCs among other stake holders from all districts in Ankole sub-Region.
