The arrested Bushenyi Ishaka former municipal treasurer Jackson Muhwezi Beyendeza is still needed by police despite spending 7 days in police cells.
while speaking to www.mknewslink.com managing editor today afternoon 19th May 2020, the DPC Bushenyi Joe Komakech noted that they still need him for investigations pertaining his emblezzment case and other cases that have emerged after searching his office.
We still need Beyendeza because he is still helping us in investigations and i can not tell you when we shall give him bond. We still need him,”Joe Komakech revealed. Beyendeza was arrested on 12th May 2020 from his home in Mazinga and since then he has been at police.
He was later taken back to his home for search on 13th May 2020 which the police did successfully before bringing him back to police cells.
Head of investigations department told www.mknewslink.com that they had given him bond but later cancelled it after they searched his offices and found out that he had committed other offences.
Beyendeza and other two senior staff were interdicted last month and he was implicated in the misuse of 194 local revenue funds advanced to Bushenyi Ishaka municipal council.
The minister of Local Government Raphael Magyezi during a meeting held at the municipal headquarters implicated Beyendeza citing allocating of much money to his department leaving other divisions wanting.
