UPDF OFFICER KILLED IN KISORO ACCIDENT

Police in Kisoro District are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the the death of a UPDF soldier in a motorcycle accident along Kisoro Chanika road.
The deceased, identified as RA/059053 WO1 Kamugisha Ramazan, a 49-year-old male army officer attached to Nyakabande 35 Battalion barracks in Kisoro district, was reportedly returning from Kisoro town heading to Nyakabande 35 Battalion barracks yesterday when the incident occurred.
While Riding his motorcycle with registration number UEJ271X TVS, Ramazan failed to negotiate a corner near Busamba village, resulting in him falling and sustaining severe head and chest injuries.
According to Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region police spokesperson, the victim was promptly transported to Kisoro hospital by a good Samaritan and transferred to Mutolere hospital, where he passed away upon arrival.
Maate further disclosed that the postmortem examination was conducted at Mutolere hospital, while the motorcycle involved in the accident is currently parked at Kisoro central police station awaiting inspection as inquiries into the incident persist.
