KISORO DISTRICT
Uganda police force plans to erect 90 police uniports in different areas of Kisoro district in a bid to combat crimes.
This was revealed by Kisoro district police commander Richard Musisi.
Speaking to our reporter, DPC Richard Musisi said that areas of Nyabwishenya, Muramba, Murora and Nkuringo town council will be given first priority.
DPC Musisi said that Uganda police force has already procured contractors and asked sub-county leadership to allocate them public land for erecting uniports.
He said that at least each sub-county should get 10 uniports so that police personnel can be nearer to people to curb crimes.
Kisoro RDC Hajji Shafiq Ssekandi challenged sub-county councils to identify land and write to the DPC requesting for the establishment of the police uniports.
He said that Kisoro district being at the border of two countries, requires that police services be nearer to people
