Uganda Registration Service Bureau (URSB) officials have pledged to give full support to ailing companies in the country so as to save them from collapsing.
The URSB board chairman Francis Butagira said that resuscitating and putting companies back on their feet will not only contribute to an increase in revenue collection but also save millions of people from getting jobless.
Citing an example, Butagira said that UTL had been written off as dead company but under the URSB mandate of insolvency, they managed to revive it and soon will be handed over as a health company.
Butagira was speaking during the fifth URSB customer engagement week held in Mbarara.
The chairman further said that URSB has contributed a lot in easing registration of businesses and companies with the establishment of regional offices.
Caroline Egesa the URSB board secretary urged the public to register their places of worship and civil marriages with the agency to avoid further inconveniences with embassies and other relevant institutions.
Pastor Bampata Kakuru Bernard the bishop SDA church south western Uganda field said that religious leaders had a notion that wedding couples was enough evidence of marriage until they were advised to have them registered with government.
