VALLEY UNIVERSITY IN ADVANCED STAGES TO ACQUIRE CHARTER

Following VUST’s charter application in June 2022, a team from NCHE spent Thursday afternoon (12th January,2023) at the University giving technical advice regarding acquisition of charter.
The team was received by the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Enos Rwasheema, Ms. Gimaddu Esther the Academic Registrar, Prof. Emmanuel Karooro- Director Directorate of postgraduate studies, Dr. Nzarirwehi Jackson, Dr. Nuwatuhaire Benard, Dr. Byabashaija Deusdedit, Dr. Muramuzi Innocent and other members of Management.
The team commended VUST for having a conducive study environment, always implementing accredited academic programs, good infrastructure and the effort to submit a good application for charter. They highlighted areas of improvement as we prepare to have an inspection team to confirm contents in our application.
In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor thanked NCHE for always guiding Institutions for higher learning. He also assured the team that the University is going to start working on the areas suggested for improvement with immediate effect.
According to the Academic registrar Esther Gimaddu ,VUST is growing fast.
Currently it has close to 1200 students and it’s the only University in the region offering free Accommodation to Students.
It will be holding it’s 3rd Graduation Ceremony on the 28th of January, 2023.
The University is also admitting for the February intake and semester will start on 6th February 2023
