VISION GROUP JOURNALIST ARRESTED AT BISAKA’S RESIDENCE

IN KAGADI—
A Print Journalist working with New Vision and bukkedeTV was yesterday evening arrested & detained by the Security Guards at Kampyemi Faith of Unity Headquarters and later released with out any charge preferred against him on allegation of taking photos and recordings with out Permission from relevant Authorities.

Ismael Kasooha,journalist, when contacted on phone , said he had gone to Kampyemi Headquarters to cover professors from Makerere University and Nigeria who were meeting Owobusozi Bisaka on their research about the faith of unity at
Kampyemi headquarters.

Kasooha says it is true he was arrested on orders of Owobusozi Bisaka from mid-day to 2:30pm but released with out any charge preferred against him. He adds that he made an appointment with Omukwenda Turyamureba in Charge Communications yesterday that he was going to cover the professors who are doing their research on faith of unity and gave him a go ahead but he was surprised to be humiliated before the Public.

Eye witnesses say, Kasooha was ordered by the UPDF officers to quit
the Headquarters immediately and was seen driving off in Kihereza streets with out any stop overs until he reached home in Kagadi town.

However, Kasoohas’ detention and release has attracted a lot of
emotions from the Media fraternity with journalists both from print
and Electronic platforms condemning the act, they say it was not fair
and an abuse of journalists rights to arrest a professional news
reporter yet he had Vision group Identity Card and with permission
from relevant authorities
