VOTE WISELY; JACKLET CHALLENGES SHEEMA MUNICIPALITY ELECTORATES

Residents in Sheema municipality have been called upon to vote wisely in the forth coming election.
This call was made by Jacklet Rwabukurukuru the Sheema district Woman Member of Parliament, during the official opening of new Sheema Municipal council administration block.
She said that Sheema has only survived through lobbying noting that funds from ministry of local government are not enough to develop urban centers thus urging the electorates to choose a representative who can lobby for their area if they are to develop.
Jacklet also revealed that the municipality has already got 20 solar street lights worth Ug shs each as a grant from her husband which are (street lights) very paramount to urban centers according to her.
Major Martha Asiimwe the RDC Mbarara district, who also doubles as the dean of RDCs in the country, attributed the success of Sheema to NRM governance and urged the municipality leaders not to use the new building for their own business but use it to coordinate with the citizens.
Martha was presiding over the function as a representative for the permanent secretary for local government.
Canon David Kabigumira the acting Mayor said that the municipality is progressing in the collaboration foreign countries such as South Korea, Canada and California which have supported different projects.
He also raised a concern on three new town councils which were not included in the elections programme thereby calling upon the government to consider as soon as possible. The town councils include; Kitagata, Masheruka, and Kakindo.
The function was also attended by aspiring candidates for the Sheema municipality Member of Parliament seat and elders of the District.
