WAR STARTS: LUKWAGO ALREADY ARRESTED OVER ATTEMPTS TO BLOCK AGE LIMIT REMOVAL

The embattled Kampala City Lord Mayor; Erias Lukwago was tis morning subjected to a surprise arrest as he was leaving his Wakaliga home going on his business.
Mr Lukwago was arrested at his home in Wakaliga, Rubaga Division in Kampala as he planned to leave for work.
The lord Mayor and a group of other city leaders had today planned to hold a procession from city hall to City Square where they were to launch their ‘Togibikula’ campaign against lifting of the presidential age limit.www.mknewslink.com has learnt.
He had earlier today told www.mknewslink.com reporter in a telephone interview that police was surrounding his home at about 5am.
“I woke up at 5am and found I was surrounded by police. They have refused to allow me leave my home,” Lukwago asserted.
In related news the Inspector General of Police Gen Kale Kayihura yesterday issued guidelines to be followed by people planning to hold demonstrations that involve processions today, relating to the debate on the removal of the presidential age limit.
The removal process is expected to kick off at Parliament with a private member tabling a motion to introduce the bill to amend article 102 of the constitution.
Police Boss Kale Kayihura says no marching demonstrations will be allowed especially in the capital Kampala, and other cities and towns, and much less near the parliamentary building.
Police in Rukungiri municipality yesterday defused a protest organized by the opposition members who were expressing their anger against the plans to remove presidential age limit.
