In Rubanda——
The Forum for the Democratic Change-FDC party president Patrick Oboi Amuriat said that the FDC party is not ready for dialogue with the ruling National Resistance Movement led by President Museveni.
Amuriat was on Thursday addressing the Kigezi region FDC
leaders and supporters at Hamurwa town council headquarters in Rubanda district.
He said that the FDC party would be interested in a meaningful
dialogue, but there are no visible structures and systems for the
dialogue.
Amuriat said that they do not see the reasonas to why they should go for dialogue with the government of President Museveni while the opposition still carries out their functions surrounded by heavily armed police and soldiers.
He however said that they are ready to avail themselves for any meeting or activities aimed at expressing the peoples view.
The People’s Government President Dr. Kizza Besigye said that people should through popular demand, pressurize President Museveni to resign from power.
Besigye argued that for the last 32 years, President Museveni
has failed to free Ugandans from poverty and should therefore resign.
He however said that the struggle is now about reorganizing political activists, training them and giving them leadership structures to lead to actions that will weaken and fail Museveni
