WE ARE NOT TAKING AWAY KITAGATA HOT SPRINGS—–SHEEMA RDC KYERERE

In Sheema—
The RDC Sheema Frank Besigye Kyerere has rubbished allegations that the district wants to evacuate and take over the Kitagata hotsprings.
Kyerere noted that the hot spring which receives over 200 people every day has no latrine, dressing rooms and it lacks security.
He revealed that the ministry of tourism in conjunction with Kitagata town council only wants to modernize the hot spring by building 6 stance pit latrines, dressing rooms for both male and female plus fencing the place.
The RDC said that the family of the late Ibara has mobilized the residents to refuse the developments due to the fact that they have been collecting revenue with claims that the land on which the hot spring sits is theirs.
He now appeals to the public to accept the development and ignore individuals like Ibara and senior commissioner Laban Muhabwa who are trying to mislead them.
Kitagata residents on 19th March 2021 intimated to www.mknewslink.com that Sheema RDC Frank Besigye Kyerere is conniving with some district leaders to evacuate the Hot Springs.
Led by Retired Senior Commissioner of Police Laban Muhabwa who recently contested for Chairmanship of Sheema but lost to Jemimah Buhanda , the residents vowed that they will fight to the end to make sure no one tempers with their hot springs.
Angry residents who talked to our reporter warned that Kitagata hot spring is God given, was found there and vowed that it must remain.
Muhabwa added that district leaders have on several occasions tried to snatch Kitagata Hot Springs from the hands of Ugandans all in the name of developing the vast land for District gains.
He however warned government leaders not to dare take this deadly move and called upon Ugandans to be ready with stones, sticks so that they lynch whoever comes close the hot spring with his or her ill intentions.
“In 1984 some corrupt government leaders tried taking over these hot springs but we fought them and I can assure them that we are still ready to fight for the same cause,” furious Muhabwa Said.
