“WE DO NOT REGRET FOR OPPOSING CONSTITUTION AMENDMENT” –MP RWABWOGO

The woman Mp for Kabarole district Sylvia Rwabwogo and Fort portal Mp Alex Ruhunda have disclosed they have no regrets for opposing the amendment of article 102B of the 1995 constitution of Uganda.

On 20th December 2017 Mps passed the constitution (amendment) (No.2) Bill, 2017 dropping the 75 year upper age limit for presidential candidates and extending the term of parliament to seven years.
317 Mps voted in favor, 97 rejected and 2 MPs abstained.
Speaking to our reporter Alex Ruhunda said that the decision he made was for the will of people of Fort portal municipality.
He added that incase the NRM summons him he is to produce the evidence before the NRM on what the people decided.
Sylvia Rwabwogo disclosed that politics is the world of choice and people must e ready to defend their choices as they carry on and well knowing that she belongs to NRM.
Rwabwogo added that she was being honest and objective during her decision making not to support the age limit removal.
She explained that she does not regret because she represented exactly what people told her during consultative meetings. She adds that she will not be disturbed in her course of work because in a country where offices are utilized professionally thus she cannot sell her soul to make the work easier and yet she was entrusted and faced with a decision which she had made.
Rwabwogo further put it clear that she not ready to go to court with other Mps because her role is in parliament.
Yesterday 2nd 2018 president Yoweri Kaguta Museven signed on the controversial Age Bill into an Act.
