WE HAVE NO CASE OF COVID 19 IN THE DISTRICT AS SOCIAL MEDIA ALLEGE—MBARARA RDC

Mbarara district Covid-19 task force led by Lt. Col James Mwesigye has clarified that Mbarara has no confirmed case of covid-19 patient as it has been circulating on social media.
While addressing a press conference yesterday last evening, the task force led by Lt. Col James Mwesigye at his office in Mbarara clarified that when they got information, the taskforce quickly responded and intercepted the reported truck driver at Lake Side diary factory in Ruti, Nyamitanga division Mbarara Municipality.
Mwesigye identified the truck driver as Peter Muturi Kinithia a truck driver Reg.No KBE 565B who upon consulting officials from the ministry of health, was reported to have entered Uganda on April 16, 2020 and was subjected to a test on April 17, his results returned on April 19, reading negative.
He called the public to keep vigilance and following the ministry of health guidelines and presidential directives on coronavirus.
Currently, Uganda has 63 cases with 8 being truck drivers. The number of recoveries stand at 47 after more 7 patients were discharged from Entebbe Grade B hospital yesterday evening while no death has been reported.
