WEALTH CREATION SCAM: SUPPLIERS STEAL 11 MILLION TEA SEEDLINGS

Tea nursery bed operators in Kabale district are on the spot from
operation wealth creation commanders for allegedly inflating the tea
seedlings supplied.

The operation wealth creation commanders claim that in the report
submitted by operators demanding for payments between from
September-November last year, indicate that they supplied 21,666,803
million seedlings.

He said that when they went gardens to verify the claimed tea
seedlings they found only 9,220,468 million seedlings supplied.

The coordinator operation wealth creation Kabale district Col. Charles
Tebarura, accuses the tea nursery bed operators of forgery after
verifying the fields claimed to have been supplied with the seedlings.

The Kabale Resident district Commissioner Darius Nandinda expresses
disappointment over sub county chiefs and extension workers who signed
farmers reports demanding payments without verifying tea seedlings
planted in gardens.

Nandinda demanded that all sub county chiefs and extension workers be
arrested with immediate effect.

The Kabale district tea nursery operators chairman Phillip Zikampereza
quashed the report claimed by Col Tebarura saying that it is an
estimated report of supplied tea seedlings to farmers pending
verification.
