Rt. Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni, the Bishop of West Ankole Diocese has described the fallen former Bushenyi Ishaka MP Gordon Arinda Cowboy as a leader who chose harmony over conflict.
“Arinda played a big role across the sphere of human social relations, both in extensive and limited ways. Arinda knew how to handle differences as well as tame his personal challenges in order to keep peace. It was evident throughout his tenure that he preferred harmony to conflict,” The bishop said.
Gordon Arinda Cowboy lost battle to deadly COVID 19 on Sunday 9th Jan.2022 after a short stay at Mbarara regional referral hospital.
He represented the people of Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality to the 10th parliament until 2021 when he lost an election to the incumbent Derrick Kabuura.
Through his social media handles, the bishop of West Ankole diocese noted that he was personally impressed by how Late Cowboy behaved in the aftermath of his incumbency as an MP.
“He remained neutral amidst conflicting interests. He demonstrated ability to blend conflict and cooperation, which, in my view, makes him a rare politician that has gone down as a hero. Surely, there’s a lot good we can learn from his life and conduct,” Bishop Johnson lamented
Meanwhile, Bishop Johnson’s predecessor emeritus Yona Katonene said the passing on of Cowboy is still a deep shock and painful.
He noted that he watched Cowboy grow in the community of Kabuba Mwengura Kyeizooba Igara Bushenyi as a shining young man in both church and government.
“It’s really a huge loss not only to Kabuba community but the diocese of West Ankole and the nation at large,” Bishop Katonene eulogized.
The late Gordon Arinda Cowboy will be laid to rest tomorrow in Kitagata Kyeizooba Igara Bushenyi.
