The West Ankole Diocese Chancellor Mr. Marvin Baryaruha has informed the Archbishop of the church of Uganda Stanley Ntagali that West Ankole Diocese is peaceful and Lay Canons who took him to court repented.
Some Lay Canons led by Yorokam Bashaasha took the archbishop Ntagali to court three years back accusing him of taking over the diocese illegally after the retirement of Katonene without a successor.
Mr Marvin noted that even the Canons lost the case before Justice Lydia Mugambe where they decided to accept the court’s decision and allowed the Archbishop to take over the diocese as the acting Bishop.
Thanking the Diocese, Marvin hailed its good bishop Rt. Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni who has united the diocese to the expected level and for making sure that bickering is completely over.
He said that the new Bishop Johnson is a good preacher and his preaching has in turn changed the diocese by getting thousands of Christians saved.
Marvin added that out of the 25 archdeacons, three are only remaining without archdeacon vehicles and promised that they will also buy for them soonest.
He also said that West Ankole Diocese has purchased the land adjacent to the new house of the Bishop which is still under construction at the cost of over Ugx250M.
Mr. Marvin was speaking during the visit of Archbishop Stanley Ntagali at Bweranyangi cathedral while representing the head of laity Mr. Willis Bashaasha who is out of the country.
The Archbishop hailed Mr. Marvin for the good speech that was meant to unite the Christians of West Ankole Diocese.
