WOMAN COMMITS SUICIDE OVER DAUGHTER’S SCHOOL FEES

Police in Rukungiri are investigating the death of a woman in her thirties.
The deceased has been identified as Ronah Tayebwa a resident of Ihendamata cell Nyabubare parish, Bwambara Sub county Rukungiri district.
According to Hope Tushemereirwe an eyewitness, she was looking for her lost pig only to find a person lying in the bush in the morning hours which forced her to make an alarm calling for help.
The chairperson of Ihendamata cell, Ikeme David, said that Ronah was last seen at her shop at around 03:00pm on a Wednesday 31st July so they were surprised to find her dead.
He said, “We had not reported a missing person yet because we thought it was the usual go and come back”.
Her uncle Gideon Rurihoona, said that he had talked to her as she seemed not well because she was bothered about the education of her daughter.
Gideon Rurihoona her uncle said, “we talked last Sunday she seemed to be bothered of where to get her daughter’s school fees, but I did not know she would do such a thing, I don’t know whether she killed herself or she was murdered, God Knows.”
The officer in charge of Rukungiri police station Edwin Atukunda, said preliminary investigations show she might have killed hers self, because next to her body was a small bottle, suspected to contain poison.
“We have started investigations, we are going to check with body and the bottle next to it, and an exclusive report will be given to you,” He said.
The body was carried to Rwakabengo health center III mortuary as investigations commence.
