WOMAN DIES IN RUKUNGIRI ACCIDENT

One person yesterday died on spot in an accident along Rukungiri Ntungamo Road.

Annah Tumuhairwe 46, a resident of Ndorero cell, Ndorero parish, southern division Rukungiri district a passenger on motorcycle died on spot while the cyclist only identified as Hillary was rushed to hospital in Nyakibale

The accident involving motor vehicle Reg no UAR 581E Toyota Hiace and motorcycle Reg no UEM 740 boxer occurred on 25/11/2019 at around 4:30 pm at Nyakibale along Rukungiri-Ntungamo road.

The Kigezi Region police spokesperson Elly Maate confirmed the incidence.

Maate said that the body of the deceased was taken to Rwakabengo hospital pending postmortem while the wreckage is parked at  Rukungiri police station.

Preliminary cause is careless driving where the driver on the run knocked the motor cycle from behind.
