WOMAN KNOCKED DEAD BY SPEEDING VEHICLE ALONG BIISO – MASINDI ROAD

One person has been knocked dead by speeding vehicle along Biiso – Masindi road.

Julius Kyahurwa the LCIII chairperson Budongo sub county has identified the deceased as Aweko a resident of the same sub county.

The incident happened yesterday at around 4pm at Kamujika trading Centre in Budongo sub county Bujenje constituency, Masindi district.

Kyahurwa explained that the vehicle registration UBA 175B belonging to STC Company constructing Biiso – Masindi road which was overspending at the sharp corner ended up knocking a woman dead.

“The driver is on run, but the information I’m getting is that he is admitted at a yet to be identified health center, and the vehicle is impounded at Kabango Police Station,” he explained.

By the press time, the body of Aweko was lying at Masindi district general hospital.

When we contacted ASP Julius Hakiza the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson for a comment over the accident, he said that he was yet to get the details.
