The Ntungamo District Woman MP Hon Beatrice Rwakimaari has warned Christian women against excessive alcohol consumption if they are to keep their dignity and discipline in families.
Hon Rwakimaari was speaking to hundreds of Christians who turned up for the Marys day Sunday service yesterday at St Pauls Kabira COU parish in Ntungamo sub County.
She expressed concern over the excessive drinking of alcohol among the married women noting that it has accelerated domestic violence and family breakdown.
Hon Rwakimaari appealed to women to be humble, cooperative and preserve their dignity if they are to be loved by their husbands.
In our early years we women were known for not taking alcohol, dressing indecently before public and children but these days its worse you meet women staggling in the middle of the road because of alcohol, lets us fight it please, she noted.
However, Rwakimaari commended the women for engaging in developmental programs like Mothers Union and business which has enabled them develop themselves without depending on their husbands.
While preaching, Enid Tabaruka from Kigezi diocese attributed marriage breakdown before its first anniversary to women who smile and care for their bosses, visitors and people they met outside family but failed to do the same to their husbands.
She added that men should love their wife like Christ loves the church and women be humble and trustworthy in order to have happy and developmental families
