As Uganda joins the rest of the world today to mark the international women’s day, women have been challenged to be innovative if they are to create change in their families.
This was revealed by Rosette Kajungu Mutambi the woman Member of Parliament Mbarara while setting off a team of district women council to Bunyangabu district ahead of today’s national celebrations.
This day is celebrated on every 8th of March and this year’s celebration will be in Bunyangabu district under the theme, ‘Think equal, build smart, and innovate for change.’
Kajungu noted that if the knowledge of innovativeness is applied on the little resources women have, it will improve on house hold income.
She noted that even though the government provides money to women through UWEP, it cannot be utilized effectively when skills are not applied
Some of the women who talked to www.mknewslink.com appreciated the organisations made by the woman Member of Parliament mbarara.
“This is the first time women in Mbarara are going for celebration” .
