Minister of general duties in the office of the PM Mary Karooro Okurut has warned Bushenyi voters who are saying she should go noting that she is not going anywhere.
“I have heard a voice in the congregation saying I should retire, where should I retire to,” she said.
She said this during the burial of Richard Mugume at Kibaare COU Nyakabirizi division Bushenyi Ishaka municipality.
Karooro who has been in parliament since 2004 said this in the presence of her main challenger Ms Annet Mugisha and when she started speaking politics in tongues, people in the audience shouted that she should retire.
Mugume has been an auditor for Bam petrol station owned by Apollo Bimukye and Bimukye contributed immensely towards his medical bills and he has pledged to pay fees for Mugumes S4 child up to any level he wants to stop.
Mugume succumbed to kidney failure as a result of high blood pressure and he died at a time preparations of taking him to India for transplant were underway.
Pison Mugizi the chairman of Bamwine family hailed Bimukye of Bam petrol station for supporting them by meeting their brothers medical bills plus others who attended Mugumes send off.
Mugume’s burial was attended by many dignitaries such as MP cowboy, District boss Jaffar Bassajabalaba, transport and road commissioner in the ministry of works and transport Winston Katushabe, Kandi Eunice Bashaasha and Annet Mugisha Katusiime, the aspirants for Bushenyi Woman MP.
