Three embattled staff members of Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality are accused of falsely accessing council documents which they presented in court in a petition against their interdiction.
In a council meeting held today 13th April 14, 2018, chaired by the speaker Mr. Milton Kasibure, it was confirmed that the three officials who were interdicted in the last council meeting, presented the previous minutes in court during their petition against the resolution of their interdiction.
Mr. Jackson Kamugasha the mayor Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality, expressed concern on how council documents reached in the court: “I need to inform you that the court documents received had attachments of minute extract, attendance list and minutes from the council. I wonder how they were accessed to be used.” Mayor Wondered.
The matter was also raised by Hon Jossy Nuwagaba councilor for Kyeitembe ward who tasked the town clerk, Mr. Edward Kiwanuka to explain how those documents reached to the court before they were even confirmed.
In defense, kiwanuka said that the petitioners are also members of the council so they can access the documents whenever they want to.
The defense was challenged by the council noting that the embattled trio are not members of the council but just staff of the council.
The speaker thus resolved that whoever released the council documents face displinary action.
The council also resolved that the duties of the officers in question be assigned to other officers though the resolution to interdict them can’t be implemented due a court order by the high court stopping the implementation of the resolution.
