ANKOLE WESTERN UNIVERSITY DEVASTATED BY STORM

Ankole western University structure in Sheema municipality has been devastated following a violent storm that lasted for one hour yesterday.
The storm that started yesterday around 5:00pm unroofed three lecture rooms and destroyed the University banana plantation that used as a demonstration farm.
One of the teaching staff who preferred anonymity because he is not allowed to talk on behalf of the University confirmed to www.mknewslink.com reporter that nobody was injured because by the time when the calamity occurred all students were in their respective hostels.
Nganwa High school which is adjacent to the University also was affected by the storm whereby three staff houses ‘rooftops were carried away to a distance.
A three-acre banana plantation belonging to one Robina Bekunda ; a neighbor to Ankole western University and that of St.Emmanuel C.O.U were destroyed by the storm.
In related news residents of Kagango division in Sheema municipality are calling upon the concerned government authorities to come for their rescue following devastating rains that left large crop plantations destroyed.
The most affected wards include Kihunda and Kiziba both in Sheema municipality.
