WEST ANKOLE DIOCESAN HEAD OF LAITY: DR.KANSIIME JOINS RACE AS BAMUGYENDERA PULLS OUT

As the election of the head of laity for west Ankole diocese draws nearer, Dr.Micheal Kansiime; the director of programs at Africa Institute for Strategic Resource Services and Development(AFRISA) joins the race.
Dr.Kansiime heads the Africa Institute for Strategic Resource Services and Development AFRISA at Makerere University is in charge of Agricultural and Rural Innovations.
The diocesan synod is scheduled to sit at the Bweranyangi cathedral tomorrow Friday of March 23,2018 to choose the head of laity from three people who have so far shown interest in the post.
Other contestants in the race include Benon Karyeija; the former Mitooma district chairman, Willis Bashasha also former Bushenyi district chairman and David Bukomooko.Can.Ephraim Bamugyendera who had shown interest in the position has withdrawn from the race for unclear reasons.
However, Dr.Kansiime who is now aged 47 says the post of the Diocesan head laity is cardinal thus needing a born again and well educated person who is not associated with earthly things.
In an exclusive interview with the www.mknewslink.com managing editor today, Dr.Kansiime said unlike his rivals, he is fit for the job because he accepted Jesus Christ as a personal savior when he was 8 years-old.
