OVER 20 BODA BODA CYCLES,4 CARS IMPOUNDED IN TRAFFIC OPERATION

Today, traffic police in Bushenyi have carried out an operation along Kasese Mbarara road in which over twenty motorcycles and four cars were impounded.
An operation led by the OC traffic Bushenyi district Mr. Julius Tushabe targeted vehicles without third party licenses, Drivers and cyclists without permits, cyclists without crash helmets and those who carry more than one passenger.
Speaking to our reporter, Mr. Martial Tumusiime the PRO greater Bushenyi police, said that these operations are carried on a regular basis in order to reduce traffic offences which may result to loss of lives.
Mr. Martial added that police is carrying out sensitization programmes on traffic rules and road safety at different boda boda stages and Taxi parks and different media platforms to create awareness among the public. He thus warned all road users to abide with traffic rules and appealed to them to always attend their sensitization programmes.
However, the Boda boda cyclists who spoke to www.mknewslink.com reporter called upon the government to reduce on the prices of permits and fuel such that they can also gain from their job.
