A total of 350 enrolled nurses and midwifes on 4th May 2018 graduated at the 3rd graduation ceremony for Ishaka Adventist health training school in Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality.
Of the 350 graduates, 161 were female while the rest were male.

The chief guest Professor Dr Eng Silver Mugisha managing director NWSC said that there’s need for the graduates to position themselves smartly and ensure that they are able to compete favorably in the job market.

Mugisha told them to uphold the calling from God in love and provide the necessary care to patients in a selfless manner in whatever corner of the country.
He was flanked by his wife Annet Mugisha Katusime who appealed to parents to feed children with nutritious food for better life.

The principal Muhangi Elias appealed to the graduates not to shun hard-to-reach areas and avoid spread diseases through sensitizes the community about HIV and AIDS as epidemic diseases.

Two people perished in an accident along Mbarara –Ishaka road when the vehicle they were travelling in burnt to ashes.
Mubasshir Ahmed 28 a Pakistan National of Medvine pharmacy in Mbarara and his worker Gerald, perished when a Toyota Premio car registration No. UAX 808 L they were travelling caught fire and burnt to ashes.
According to the Greater Bushenyi Region police spokes person, SP Martial Tumusiime, the accident happened at around 8:00 pm at Kyenkokora near Itendero town in Sheema District when the driver of a premio wanted to dodge a boda boda rider thus swaying off the road, crushed and caught fire.
Martial attributed to the cause of accident to over speeding by the car driver and reckless riding by the boda boda.

He cautioned the road users to always be cautious with traffic rules especially during night.
He also noted that traffic operations on drivers and boda boda riders who offend traffic rules are still ongoing.

Police in Kabale district are investigating circumstances under which the
Uganda People’s Defense Forces-UPDF solider attached to Special Forces
Command-SFC was badly stabbed in the stomach by a yet to be identified
man during a bar fight.
The victim identified as Stephen Kangiriho was stabbed in the wee
hours of yesterday at New California T & J Transit
bar and Hotel in Kigongi A, central division, Kabale municipality. New
California T & J Transit Hotel is one of the known hand-out places for
sex workers in Kabale town.
Kangiriho is among the advance team of soldiers guarding the Minister
for Education and Sports, First Lady Janet Kataha Museveni. Janet
Museveni is expected to officiate at Open Day at Kabale University in
Kabale district today.
Medard Biryomumisho an eye witness says that a fight erupted between
Kangiriho and with a yet to be identified man over a sex worker. He
says that Kangiriho forcefully took a sex worker from the man while in
the bar before a fight erupted.
The Kigezi Region police spokesperson Elly Maate says that the suspect
badly stabbed Kangiriho on the stomach using a knife during the fight
and took off. Maate also says that the victim was first rushed to
Kabale Regional Hospital before he was referred to Mbarara Regional
Referral Hospital where he is battling for his life.
Maate adds that 54 people who were found at the scene of crime were
arrested for being public nuisance and are being detained at Kabale
Police Station to for questioning.
Maate also says that though police is yet to find out the exact cause
of the fight, but Kangiriho was somehow drunk. Maate also says that
police has condoned off and closed New California T & J Transit Hotel,
neighboring Bamboocha bar and Oceans Bar. The case is registered at
Kabale Police Station under file number CRB 1001/2018
