CHAOS AS HON.ABIRIGA’S BODY LANDS AT ARUA HOME

Military forces have been deployed in Arua town after crowds turned rowdy as the bodies of slain area MP Ibrahim Abiriga and his brother were brought home.
The UPDF chopper carrying the bodies arrived around 5:00pm.
But visibly enraged crowds stormed the streets to protest the killing of their legislator.
The caskets were forcefully removed A-plus Funeral Service vans.
Police was visibly overwhelmed by the crowds and could do little to contain the situation.
Protesters said they were enraged by the shooting of Abiriga in Wakiso District on Friday and demanded an explanation from government.

In the ensuing chaos, mobs hurled stones at Police who responded by firing live bullets in the air.
The streets looks like battle grounds, with property worth millions of shillings destroyed.
Officials say several people have been injured in the chaos.
As of 7:00pm, gunfire could still be heard in the area.
The Special Forces have been called to duty since President Museveni is in the area.
