Hoima Residence District Commissioner Kisembo has instituted a six member committee to investigate allegations of mismanagement and illegal dismissals of students at Buhimba Technical institute.
This follows a petition by the school students on Wednesday morning to his office protesting what they described as poor administration, harassment and illegal dismissals by the school principal one Akoki Anyamo.
The students led by the school guild president claimed that over 15 students have been indefinitely dismissed from the school for advocating for their education rights.
However, the suspension letter seen by www.mknewslink.com indicates that the students were suspended for engaging in a strike.
William Natukunda, the former vice guild president, says that the school principal does not provide materials for practical lessons in time and the boys dormitory is in a sorry state.
However, RDC Kisembo instituted a six member committee led by the Kikuube district Internal Security Officer, DPC and others to investigate the claims and compile a report by Tuesday next week.
He asked those suspended to keep away from the school premises until a report is out and cautioned against any form of strike.
Efforts to get a comment from the school principal was futile by press time.
