KIGEZI: LOSERS IN NRM PRIMARIES FORM COALITION TO DECAMPAIGN FLAG BEARERS

Over 40 losers in the recently concluded National Resistance Movement (NRM) Parliamentary party primaries from Kigezi region have formed a coalition to fight against the party’s flag bearers in the next general election.
Under their pressure group, Kigezi NRM Flontliners accuse the flag bearers of robbing them of their victory by especially intimidating and bribing voters, conniving with security organs to harass them in the recently concluded NRM primaries.
The members under the Chairmanship of Simpson Mpirirwe, the former Ndorwa West MP contestant also accuse the NRM leadership led by its Chairperson President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of keeping silent when his new cadres were robbed of their victories.
They said that despite some of them petitioning the NRM secretariat, they were not helped at the expense of their opponents.
Simpson Mpirirwe who lost to David Bahati the Minister of Finance in charge of planning said that they have resolved to petition President Museveni to intervene and address the injustices they faced in the last election or else they will rally behind independent candidates in the forth coming general elections.
Tracy Asiimwe, Gloria Tukahurirwa, Doreen Twebaze, Levi Musinguzi who all lost to Mary Paula Turyahikayo for the Rubabo constituency Member of Parliament seat vowed to rally behind David Ndindirize Tushabomwe who was second to Turyahikayo.
Gloria Tukahurirwa said they cannot support Mary Paula who rigged their votes and connived with Police to torture other candidates.
Dan Mbonigaba who lost to John Kamara for Bufumbira North, Francis Tiryoomwe who lost to Eddie Kwizera also said that they can never accept to support their last election tormenters. They said they are only ready to support any independent candidates unless President Museveni intervenes.
