In Bushenyi—

Pride Micro finance bank Bushenyi branch has today morning finally opened after it was closed on Monday when COVID 19 results for its manager came out positive.

According to the acting manager Ntorinwe Lydon they decided to reopen after all staff were tested and are waiting for the results.

When www.mknewslink.co visited the bank today, it was operating normally, customers were depositing, withdrawing and applying for loans.

Ntorinwe said that the manager who tested positive is being treated at his home since all health facilities which manage COVID 19 patients are full.

Pride Micro Finance Bushenyi branch was closed on 24th Nov.2020 morning after their manager tested positive to COVID 19.

Customers were however advised to use Ishaka Branch since it is the nearest Pride micro finance branch.

In Bushenyi

The Bishop of West Ankole diocese Rt. Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni has refuted allegations that him and Wills Bashaasha the diocesan head of Laity fired the communications officer Zadock Amanyisa.

He noted that some peole want to spread information aimed at dividing the church of God adding that it will be accept.

He said this ad more others today morning at 10:00am while at his residence at Bweranyingi Hill Bushenyi district in an exclusive interview with www.mknewslink.com managing editor.

He revealed that Zadock resigned on grounds that he had administrative and in house issues thus he is in a better position to expound these issues but not the diocese.

The Bishop added that Zadock had started farming, country side reports news website and had contributing for daily monitor thus he moved on to concentrate on those.

On the issue of leave without pay that was given by him, the bishop explained that it was because of COVID 19 adding that when the situation normalizes, they will be welcomed back since their contracts are still valid.

 Zadock Amanyisa who joined West Ankole diocese three years ago as a communications officer handed in his resignation letter on 24^th Nov.2020.

In Bushenyi

Bushenyi Catholic community is mourning the death of their Priest Rev. Fr. Pascal Betunga.

Fr. Betunga who has been serving as the Episcopal Vicar for Bushenyi breathed his last yesterday.

Comboni Secondary school community where Fr. Betunga has been the chairperson board of governors described him as a passionate friend, parent and above all a good shepherd.

Some of the people, who have been interacting with him, say that Mbarara archdiocese has really lost a man of zeal, good preacher and a humble servant.

In Kabale

The coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation-OWC program in Kabale district Lt. Col. Charles Tebarura has finally conceded that authorities have failed to stop supply of fake seeds and sick animals.

Tebarura has conceded that the district agricultural officials employed to distribute planting materials have failed to stop supplying fake seeds.

He said this was an initiative by President Museveni as he sought to improve Uganda’s agricultural productivity.

The admission came as he was speaking to our reporter on phone interview, following reports that the district was unable to supply good quality seeds to farmers which have reduced production as well as sick animals.

According to the report in January last year Kabale district sub counties received seeds under agriculture cluster development but a half of them never geminated

“We have been wondering as officials, where the fake seeds come from but it has come to our attention that some suppliers buy grain and treat it; once we get them, we will blacklist them because we are tired of these endless complaints,” Tebarura warned

He revealed that the government has failed to authorize district leaders to ban the suppliers of fake seeds because though they know them but they are untouchable due to the powers they are entitled for by the government.

In Kabale

Kabale District health officer have attributed the high cases of teenage pregnancies in the district to poverty among girls.    

Statistics from the Human Rights Focus indicate that 5000 young girls were impregnated in Kabale district since the COVID-19 lockdown in January up to mid-August 2020.  

But authorities and parents in Kabale have blamed the high numbers in the district on poverty that hit the area due to the COVID-19 lockdown leading to increasing cases of domestic violence.

The Kabale district vice chairperson Bridgette Asinga pointed out that many parents have become too arrogant on their children for fears of responsibilities, something which has forced many young girls to run after men and ended up getting pregnant. 

The Police Annual Crime Report of 2019 presented in April this year indicates that 13,693 cases of domestic violence were reported.
