In Kabarole

An Angry mob in Busoro Sub County Kabarole district has this afternoon killed one person and injured four others over suspected cattle theft.

The deceased has been identified as James Asimwe 29 years a resident of Kirere Village Busoro Subcounty Kabarole district.

According to ASP Vincent Twesige the Rwenzori West Police Spokesperson, last night while at Mumbagane village Busoro Sub County the deceased together with other four were suspected to be cattle thieves which provoked residents to batter them, causing Asiimwe’s death  and leaving four others critically injured.

Twesige says that Seven People have been arrested to assist in investigations. 

The body of the deceased was taken to Fort Portal regional Referral hospital for postmortem and the four victims were also admitted at the same facility.

In Rwampara—

Police in Rwizi Region are investigating circumstances that led to the mysterious death of a boda boda rider.

The deceased is Godfery Kateeba aged 53 years, a Boda boda rider and a resident of Kyabashukura cell, Kinoni Town council Rwampara district.

According to ASP Samson Kasasira the Rwizi Region Police mouthpiece the decased was murdered in the night of Tuesday 01,Dec.2020 by unknown people who later dumped him in River Rwizi and ran away with his motorcycle Reg.No.UEV 781q Bajaj Boxer red in colour.

Kasasira said that the disappearance case was reported at Kinoni police post on Friday 04th, Dec, 2020 by a one Kateeba Loice Zitenda 50years, a wife to the deceased.

 However, Kasasira noted that the body of the deceased was yesterday 06th,Dec.2020 discovered in River Rwizi at Nyarubungo cell, Kinoni Town council in Rwampara district by two women Mugume Joviah and Mugasha Roice both residents of Sheema district who had gone to check on their gardens near R.Rwizi 

The body of the deceased was handed over to the relatives for burial after undergoing a postmortem as investigations into the matter continue.

In Mbarara

A section of NRM Cadres and leaders have attacked organisers of president Museveni’s meeting at Kakyeka stadium Mbarara city for not inviting them.

Museveni has today 7^th Dec. 2020 started his campaigns in western Uganda and he begins from Mbarara before heading for Kigezi.

NRM flag bearer for Mbarara city North MP who is one of the chief organizers, Robert Mwesigwa Rukari has explained that SOPs require not more than 200 attendees and advised others to follow the events on TV’s, Radios and other media’s 

The NRM spokesperson Rodgers Mulidwa says Museveni will spend about 3days in Mbarara and the party is following Standard Operating procedures in the fight against COVID 19.

“We meet 200 or less people and sometimes we test ,if we find 5 or 6 people positive there we incur expenses by taking them to Hospitals” he added.

Meanwhile, the NRM Secretary General Justin Kasule Lumumba tested positive for COVID 19 after one week of self-isolation.

In Mbarara—

All Saints Church Mbarara yesterday 06, December, 2020 temporarily halted all its external church services like conferences, church Missions among others due to COVID 19 Surge in the country. 

Speaking to Christians yesterday in a Sunday service held at All Saints Church Mbarara, Archdeacon Ven. Can. Bobs Mwesigye the area priest said that they have decided to halt on the external church services due to the continued COVID 19 related deaths and the surge in community spread of covid 19 in Mbarara.

Rev. Bobs noted that many Ugandans have however relaxed much in as far as  the fight against covid 19 pandemic  is concerned yet the country is currently in its fourth stage where huge numbers of patients and deaths are  being recorded every day. 

He however cautioned Christians that they must follow the presidential and ministry of health directive on COVID 19 and adhere to Standard Operating procedures (SOPs) that is wearing face masks, washing hands, keeping social distance among others.

In Mitooma—

Police in Mitooma are holding a police officer who shot and killed on spot a student from Kirambi Mitooma district.

SP Martial Tumusiime greater Bushenyi police Spokesperson identified the officer as AIP David Muyambi and the deceased as Andrew Ainebyoona a son to Robert Mbabazi.

Martial revealed that the Police officer who is attached to Kirambi police post was arrested on 27^th Nov.2020.

According to SP Martial, the police officer Muyambi went to arrest Robert Mbabazi but he (Mbabazi) called his sons to attack the police officer.

Martial told www.mknewslink.com that in self-defense, Muyambi triggered a bullet which hit Ainebyoona killing him on spot.

The police officer’s file is before the Mitooma State attorney for perusal so that she takes a decision on whether take the officer to court or release him.

Police brutality has of recent been commonly Uganda especially on Candidates and other innocent Ugandans therefore the IGP Martin Okoth Ochola should come and rescue Ugandans from the brutality of Police.
