A credible source from Bushenyi CID told www.mknewslink.com that the LCII chairman for Kibazi who was remanded on charges of murder of 19th March 2021 will soon be committed to High court.
James Turyahabwe, a 46 year old Mukiga from Kibazi village, Kibazi parish Kyamuhunga Sub County where he is an LCII chairman is charged with murder of Emmanuel Kuryomanya tea plucker from Ruhumuro sub county Bushenyi district.
A source added that there are a few issues remaining to conclude the file and then the suspect is committed to high court for trial.
A source went ahead to say that when the few issues of investigations are complete, the state will apply for committal of the suspect to high court where by law, he is supposed to be tried.
Grade one, two and chief magistrate courts are not allowed to try capital offences like murder. They are tried by high court. If one is not satisfied, he or she can appeal to court of appeal or Supreme Court.
A resident from Kibazi who preferred anonymity told www.mknewslink.com that an LCII chairman Turyahabwe who should be an example, reconciling the residents is involved in such a murderous act.
