Vendors allege that tax collectors destroy their property mercilessly, forcing them to pay taxes.
According to Adella Nuwenyine a mobile money agent in Kabwohe town, her items were confiscated by the tax collectors after failing to pay 110,000 shs.
She said that the council should be fair and taxes be levied depending on the nature of business citing out how people with big businesses are paying as low as 40,000 while those with small business like hers are demanded to pay as high as 110,000shs.
Tumwebaze told www.mknewslink.com in an interview today 30th May 2021 that he has already received such complaints from residents and promised to invite all tax collectors in council disciplinary committee to treat and discipline them accordingly.
