In Bushenyi—-

Ministry of education and sports through the directorate of industrial training has issued certificate of accreditation to Ishaka vocational Secondary School and others to teach skills based short courses.

According to the School director Johnson Nagasha, the certificate was issued this October to enable the school teach short courses like function decorator, biogas technology, bakery, fruit processing, talent development, soap making , chalk manufacturing among others.

The director Mr. Nagasha revealed that the school will open in November 2021 and learners will be examined by the ministry before they get certificates.

The ministry of education came out with this initiative of skills vocational development to help students who have been home for now close to two years to acquire skills which can enable them remain relevant in the society.

The ministry also considered those students who have dropped out of schools to be able to acquire these skills which can help them earn a living in the society.

In Kamwenge—

Three people have today morning died in a fatal accident along Mbarara-Kamwenge high way.

The accident occurred after a truck that was carrying maize failed to negotiate a corner at a roundabout and crammed into a building in Kamwenge Town council.

The three deceased who reportedly died on spot were traveling in a truck registration number UBD 289C that was coming from Fort Portal town.

By press time, police were yet to give a comment on the accident.

In Bushenyi—

Bushenyi district chairman Jaffari Bassajabalaba has hailed the people of Bushenyi for contributing money for an operation on Richard Nkyeire aka Chad who was at the verge of death.

Jaffari said this today in a telephone interview with www.mknewslink.com managing editor in Bushenyi town.

He noted that the people of Bushenyi should desist from contributing at burials but instead contribute money for people when they are still alive and can be able to get treatment.

Jaffari applauded all the people who contributed for Chad’s treatment and asked the public to make it a habit in helping the sick financially.

Apollo Lee Kakonge the Chief Executive Officer for Western Ankole Civil society Forum noted that the people of Bushenyi and Uganda at large should change their approach by saving lives rather than contributing for burials.

There are many Whatsapp groups in Bushenyi which have been contributing a lot of money at Burials but Kakonge and Jaffari said this should be done after saving life has been tried but failed.

He asked God to reward all those that helped him financially as well as those who prayed for him.

He added that this spirit of helping the sick through contribution shouldn’t stop with him because many other people need similar support.

In Mitooma—

Police in Mitooma district are hunting for a man who allegedly chopped his two stepchildren into pieces.

The suspect has been identified as Martin Orishaba a resident of Buharambo Parish, Kabira Subcounty Mitooma district.

SP Martial Tumusiime the Greater Bushenyi police mouthpiece told www.mknewslink.com that the suspect attacked Watson Muhumuza and Elizabeth’ Amumpaire 3 year old children of Wilson Tibakanya.

The PRO intimated to www.mknewslink.com  that the Orishaba attacked the two children last night at around midnight and sliced them into pieces.

Martial said that the motive of the murder is yet to be established and the suspect Orishaba Martin is still on the run.

The two bodies of the deceased were taken to Mitooma Health centre IV for a postmortem.

In Bushenyi—

Police in Bushenyi are investigating circumstances under which a suspect died in a police cell.

The suspect identified as Anthony Twijukye, 27, was today morning found dead inside the Bushenyi Central Police Station as they carried out a daily inspection.

.Bushenyi police spokesperson, SP Martial Tumusiime told www.mknewslink.com that Twijukye a resident of Karama village, Burungira parish, Ruhumuro Sub County, Bushenyi District, was arrested together with Alex Tumwebaze 26 on charges of animal theft.

Tumusiime said that the two were on Sunday morning arrested with stolen pigs, taken to Ruhumuro police post, and then transferred to Bushenyi central police station.

He said that they are waiting for the chief magistrate Bushenyi for the inquest act, so that the body can be taken for postmortem before the next course of action.

In Kisoro—–

Residents of Kidakama Village in Muramba Parish Muramba Sub County Kisoro have been left dumbstruck after a 35 year old man was discovered dangling on a Rope in his Bedroom.

The deceased has been identified as Ponsiano Hafasha, a father of 7. The deceased was discovered in the morning at 10:30 am by his father.

According to Nzabona, Ponsiano and his wife Theodora Nyirakundo 32 started fighting at around 10am.

During the course of the verbal and physical exchange, Theodora allegedly fell to the ground and blacked out while trying to escape her husband.

Eye witnesses say, they quickly rushed Nyirakundo to Muramba HC III where she was later referred to Kisoro hospital. By Press time, Nyirakundo was still in comatose state.

Meanwhile, her husband Ponsiano decided to lock himself in the house and hanged himself.

His father Silas Sabiti discovered the body after he came to knock on the door of his son’s home but no one was responded.

Sabiti made an alarm prompting neighbors to break down the window and someone entered only to discover that Ponsiano was already dead.

Kisoro Police visited the scene and removed the body from the Rope. The body was given to the relatives for burial arrangements as Police investigate the Matter.

In Kisoro—

84 veteran Soldiers have demanded the state minister for defense in charge of veteran affairs Oleru Huda Abason for their unpaid gratuity and delayed pension.

The veterans also accused Government of not including them in Government programs such as emyooga among others.

Kisoro Veterans were yesterday meeting with State Minister Huda Abason at Kisoro district council hall.

The Kisoro district Veterans Chairperson, Retired Captain Arisen Wegyi called upon the government to boast the standards of living of veteran soldiers through strengthening the existing projects including Emyooga.

He also asked the government to consider paying both gratuity and pension fully and on time.

Other veterans asked the minister to create a way for veterans to be considered as a special interest group so that government can always directly donate to them through Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) projects.

The director of veteran affairs Emmanuel Musinguzi encouraged veteran soldiers to continue maintaining discipline adding that through formation of associations, Government will be inclined to include them in the numerous enterprises where they can improve their standard of living.

The State Minister of defense in charge of veteran affairs, Huda Abason Oleru Commended Kisoro veterans for maintaining unity and not undermining Government efforts.

Huda explained that though the veterans had retired they were not tired and forgotten. She pledged to address their issues as soon as possible.

Security team in Mbarara district led by the office of the Resident District Commissioner has resolved not to give police bonds to suspects charged with animal theft and murder.

This was disclosed by the Deputy RDC Mbarara district Kawonaho Isaac in a phone interview with www.mknewslink.com reporter today.

He said that as regional security teams, they have come up with this remedy to curb down the escalating cases of animal theft and murder in Rwizi region.

Kawonaho added that they have also introduced Sub county security meetings which will be reporting directly to the office of the Resident District Commissioner.

It should be remembered that in the last presidential address on security, president Museveni emphasized that police should stop giving bonds to people convicted of murder and animal theft.
