RUKUNGIRI WOMAN, SONS KILL HUSBAND OVER LAND

Police in Rukungiri are holding a woman and her four children for allegedly killing their father over domestic violence in Nyarushanje Sub county Rukungiri district,
Kigezi Regional police spokesperson Elly Maate identified the deceased as Turyamureba Yonesani 58 years a resident of Rubabo B Village, Nyabushenyi Parish, Nyarushanje Sub county Rukungiri district.
Maate identified the 5 suspects as Nuwamanya Denis, Ainebyoona Idan, Tindikyeitire Cosolanta, Muhwezi Atananzio and their mother wife Ntegyereize Sadress all residents of the above address
It’s alleged that the deceased has been having domestic issues with his first wife identified as Ntegyereize Sadress 54 years over land which she claimed was not evenly distributed amongst all the deceased’s four wives.
Maate narrated that the Local Council settled the matter but Sadress and her children remained unsatisfied.
According to the residents on the 01/01/ 2022 at around 1900hrs two suspects identified as Nuwamanya Denis 25 years and Idan Ainebyoona 18years all biological children to Sadress invited their father to Rwakaraba Trading Centre where they were seen drinking alcohol together.
However, Denis was seen armed with a sharp panga. At around 2200hrs of the same day, the deceased and the two sons suspects left the Center together but on the 02 nd January 2022 at around 0700hrs, the body of the deceased was found along the feeder road from Rubabo B Village to Rwakaraba Trading Centre.
Byamukama Wenceslas 35 years and elder son to the deceased reported the incident at Rubabo Police Station and a case of Murder was preferred vide SD Referance 03/02/01/2022.
Maate said that suspects have been arrested to assist the police in the ongoing investigations. There were visible horizontal deep cuts on the neck, right hand and near the left ear on the head all suspected to have been caused by a sharp object.
Search was conducted and a sharp panga was recovered from the home of Nuwamanya Denis.
The scene of crime was visited by the DCID/O, CIO, SOCO and team, body taken to Rwakabengo Health Center lll for postmortem.
